Job summary

University Health Partners of Hawai'i seeks a Hawaii Keiki Dental Hygienist for a school-based preventive program in the Hilo area. The role includes conducting oral health assessments, implementing sealants, applying fluoride varnish, and delivering health education to keiki in selected elementary schools.

Under supervision from the Program Manager and Dentist, you will mentor dental hygiene students, work collaboratively with nurses, and help promote health, well-being, and academic success in

Qualifications

• Associate degree in dental hygiene.
• Current unrestricted license to practice as a Dental Hygienist in Hawaii.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• 1 year of experience in community-based oral health settings or school dental hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Conduct oral health assessments as required.
• Implement Hawaii Keiki Sealant program for children at selected elementary schools.
• Provide preventive services including fluoride varnish and sealants in schools with portable setup.
• Provide oral health education to students and staff to promote self-directed care.
• Serve as an oral health resource to Hawaii Keiki nurses.
• Collaborate with the Core Dental Sealant team to deliver quality services.
• Mentor Dental Hygiene students during clinical rotations in Complex Areas.
