Job summary

Career Links is seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist to support students in achieving independence within the educational setting. You will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to help students participate fully in school activities and reach their educational goals.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Occupational Therapy, Wisconsin licensure or eligibility, and NBCOT certification, with prior school-based experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Wisconsin Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain one.
• National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students referred for occupational therapy services and determine eligibility in accordance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized therapy plans and IEP goals.
• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students with a variety of physical, developmental, sensory, and cognitive needs.
• Participate in IEP team meetings and collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and related service providers.
• Assess students' fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, self-help, and functional skills impacting educational performance.
• Recommend and implement adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications.
• Maintain accurate documentation, therapy notes, progress reports, and compliance records.
• Educate school staff and families regarding strategies to support student success across educational settings.
• Monitor student progress and adjust intervention plans as needed.
• Participate in professional development activities and school-based meetings.
