Job summary

LiriCare is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapist (OT) to support students in Newark Unified School District, Newark, CA. This in-person role involves working with students with developmental, sensory, motor, and functional needs to help them participate in classroom activities and routines.

The OT will collaborate with teachers, families, and special education teams to develop goals and intervention plans, conduct evaluations, and contribute to IEP meetings.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Active California Occupational Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one.
• NBCOT certification, as applicable.
• Experience working with school-age children preferred.
• Familiarity with IEPs and school-based special education services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in a school-based setting.
• Conduct occupational therapy evaluations and assessments.
• Develop individualized goals and intervention plans based on student needs.
• Support fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional school participation skills.
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute evaluations, goals, recommendations, and progress updates.
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, special education staff, and other related service providers.
• Provide consultation and recommendations to school staff and families.
• Support students in accessing and participating successfully in their educational environment.
