Job summary

ESS in Williamsport, PA is seeking an Occupational Therapist Assistant to work within K-12 settings under supervision by an OT. You will help implement educationally focused therapy, support handwriting and motor skills, and adapt classroom materials to enable student participation.

You will collaborate with teachers and staff, develop treatment schedules, and participate in IEP meetings, while maintaining documentation and pursuing ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• Certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
• Pediatric and School based experience required.
• Pennsylvania State Police Clearance.
• Child Abuse Clearance.
• FBI Fingerprinting.
• School Health Form: Physical and Tuberculosis Test.
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Form 6004: Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification.
• NBCOT Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct occupational therapy service to students under the supervision of an occupational therapist.
• Develop schedule for direct treatment based on family, program and team needs.
• Participate in meetings to develop and update IEPs and Evaluation Reports, as requested.
• Participate in the implementation of each student's educational program as outlined in their IEPs and according to the schedule and routine of the classroom program.
• Provide education and training to the student, parent, teacher, and school staff individualized to student needs.
• Act as a liaison in communicating with teachers and other intermediate unit or district staff about the ongoing needs of individual students.
• Maintain all required documentation and progress monitoring according to specific program systems for the occupational therapy service provided.
• Provide classroom monitoring and individual services to teachers and students in both special and general education.
• Maintain open lines of communication with supervising occupational therapist regarding needs and changes for students on caseload.
• Travel via personal vehicle to various job site throughout assigned county in order to provide occupational therapy services to eligible students.
• Participate in continuing education to maintain state license and national certification.
