Job summary

The Watson Institute in Sewickley, PA is hiring a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support our special education school program. The successful candidate will collaborate with the OT team to promote students’ daily living skills and functional movement in diverse classrooms.

Qualifications include an accredited Associate’s Degree in Occupational Therapy Assisting and current PA COTA license.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required for OT assistant.
• Current PA COTA license required.
• School-based experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the occupational therapy team to provide individualized therapy to students with disabilities in various school settings.
• Assist with assessments and evaluations of students’ fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-care abilities.
• Implement treatment plans and activities under supervision of a licensed OT, focusing on daily living skills and functional movement.
• Assist with documentation for IEPs and related communication with classroom teams, parents, and outside agencies.
• Other duties as assigned.
