Job summary

The Watson Institute in Sewickley, PA, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support students with disabilities by developing individualized treatment plans and contributing to IEPs. The role requires a Master’s in Occupational Therapy and an active PA OT license, with school-setting experience preferred.

The OT will supervise students during drills, assist with lifting when needed, and implement crisis-management strategies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Current PA Occupational Therapist License.
• Experience in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to supervise students during emergency drills and assist with lifting when necessary.
• Ability to exert moderate physical effort and perform light work including bending, reaching and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Familiarity with Comprehensive Crisis Management and Ukeru strategies.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform assessments of students; interpret data; develop IEPs and adapt treatment.
• Establish rules of conduct; motivate students; manage treatment and classroom plans.
• Deliver information clearly; monitor and adjust treatment; maintain appropriate pace.
• Interact effectively with students, parents and staff; collaborate as a transdisciplinary team.
