Job summary

Tumwater School District No. 33 is seeking an Occupational Therapist for the Special Services department. This 1.0 FTE position is pro-rated based on the school schedule and is temporary from November through December 2026.

The therapist will screen and treat students, contribute to IEP-based goals, and work with a transdisciplinary team including teachers, speech and physical therapists, and families. Washington state certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate students referred for occupational therapy.
• Establish and implement treatment programs aligned with IEP goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, parents, and aides in a transdisciplinary model.
• Consult with staff and families to promote integration and cooperation.
• Maintain written student records and submit reports as needed.
• Utilize district resources and coordinate with support personnel.
• Communicate program rationale to staff and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Special Services administrator.
