Job summary

Nassau BOCES is seeking a Temporary Occupational Therapist to lead the district’s OT services for the 2026-2027 school year, reporting to the Director of Pupil Services. You will develop individualized programming, evaluate students, and coordinate therapy services to enhance daily living and educational participation.

Responsibilities include collaboration with school staff, IEP involvement, assistive technology recommendations, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of occupational therapy theories and evidence-based practice to guide intervention.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with staff to support student participation in education.
• Proficiency with documentation and assessment procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develops and coordinates the district's OT program and goals.
• Screens and evaluates students for educational programming and intervention.
• Forms Occupational Profiles and writes reports to guide interventions.
• Participates in IEP development and supports student participation.
• Assesses need for assistive technology and makes school-based recommendations.
• Maintains records and supervises OT Assistants as needed.
