Job summary

Suffolk Public Schools is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to provide school-based occupational therapy services, including evaluation, treatment, and consultation, to support students’ access to education. The role focuses on fine motor, perceptual-motor, sensory processing, and activities of daily living within IEP/504 contexts.

The position requires a Virginia license and NBCOT certification, with responsibilities spanning evaluation, treatment planning, and collaboration with staff

Qualifications

• Current Virginia OT license.
• National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy certification.
• Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Develop IEP/504-related occupational therapy services (direct or consultative).
• Plan and implement services to eligible students in the area of endorsement.
• Supervise licensed certified occupational therapy assistants and document supervision.
• Evaluate and document student progress and outcomes.
• Maintain records and confidentiality for Medicaid billing and Plans of Care.
