Gersh Autism Academy in Downtown Brooklyn seeks an Occupational Therapist to support K-12 students with occupational therapy services. You will collaborate with school teams to plan, implement, and adapt interventions, ensuring safe and effective participation in daily school activities.

The role emphasizes assessment, documentation, and communication with families. A NY OTR/L license and NBCOT credential are required, with a focus on evidence-based intervention and IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited occupational therapy professional program recognized by NBCOT.
• Must possess State OTR/L Licensure in the hiring state.
• One year of experience as an occupational therapist, preferably in school or pediatric setting.
• Must have sensory knowledge.
• Experience with children with disabilities is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with other disciplines to plan and deliver services.
• Evaluates student abilities and creates an occupational profile using varied assessments.
• Produces comprehensive reports and guides intervention.
• Develops student-specific intervention plans based on evaluations.
• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to support IEP goals and transition planning.
• Teaches and trains educational staff, families, and students on occupational performance.
