Job summary

Gersh Autism Bronx, NY is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide school-based OT services to students in K-12. The OT will collaborate with other disciplines, review outcomes, and adapt intervention programs within IEP goals to support student independence.

The candidate will have NBCOT certification and NY OTR/L licensure, plus at least one year of pediatric or school-based OT experience, with strong communication skills. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Occupational Therapy program recognized by NBCOT.
• Must possess State OTR/L Licensure in the hiring state.
• One year of experience as an OT, preferably in school or pediatric settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Sensory processing knowledge is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with disciplines to assess student occupational performance and plan services.
• Evaluates students using functional and standardized assessments and documents results.
• Synthesizes results into reports to guide intervention and IE P goals.
• Develops individualized OT intervention plans based on evaluations.
• Participates in multidisciplinary meetings to develop IEP/IEP goals and plans.
• Teaches and supports school staff, families, and students to improve occupational performance.
