The School Board of Highlands County is hiring a Mental Health Therapist to provide individual and group counseling for students with emotional/behavioral disorders. The role emphasizes collaboration with teachers, administrators, and families within the school setting.

Applicants should have a Master of Science in a mental health field and relevant experience; must meet Florida licensing/certification requirements and clear criminal history/drug screening.

• Master of Science in mental health counseling or related field such as psychology or social work.
• Experience with children/adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders.
• Strong communication with staff and parents.
• Knowledge of Exceptional Student Education procedures and legal requirements.
• Criminal history and drug screening clearance.

Mansioni

• Provide individual and small group counseling to students with emotional/behavioral disabilities.
• Provide parent training for parents of students with emotional/behavioral disabilities.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with Behavior Specialist and school staff.
• Participate in trainings such as Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention.
• Participate in staffings for students with emotional/behavioral disabilities.
• Consult with physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists and other professionals regarding students.
