Job summary

SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities seeks a Mental Health Professional I to deliver school-based assessment, therapy, and case management for children and families with psychiatric needs. Under supervision, you will engage in crisis management, family therapy, and collaborative documentation to support student wellness.

The role emphasizes school-based service delivery, inter-agency collaboration, and adherence to QA/CARF standards.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences or a related field.
• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced assessment, crisis management, short- and long-term individual and family therapy in school-based settings.
• Documentation reflecting quality care, including Collaborative Documentation / timely record keeping.
• Provide family therapy as a regular component of treatment.
• Collaborate with the Center and community teams; participate in supervision groups / staff meetings.
• Maintain competency in at least one Evidence-Based Practice.
• Ensure patient functioning is measured by the DLA20.
• Respond to telephone messages, e-mails, Teams messages, and inter-office mail.
• Meet QA and CARF standards and respond to patient requests for services.
• Provide school consultation, education, and prevention services to the school district.
