Job summary

InterCare Community Health Network is seeking a Part-Time Medical Assistant for a School Based Clinic in Otsego, MI. You will support providers, manage records, and help maintain a safe, efficient clinical area for students.

The role requires certification or registration as a Medical Assistant and offers benefits including PTO, sick time, holidays, tuition reimbursement, 401K, and EAP. Hours are weekday mornings with some travel or after-hour needs as necessary.

Qualifications

• Certification as Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) or equivalent.
• Experience assisting in clinical settings is preferred.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and privacy laws.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a comfortable and efficient experience for students.
• Record patient information accurately, including medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant data.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and organized.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by healthcare providers, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
• Provide basic health education and counseling to students, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and preventive care.
• Coordinate with school staff and parents to facilitate communication and ensure comprehensive care for students.
• Manage appointment scheduling, patient follow-ups, and other administrative tasks to support clinic operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with all healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
• Participate in community outreach and health promotion activities organized by the clinic.
• Continuously update skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities and training sessions.
