Job summary

MyMichigan Health in Midland, MI seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers, perform patient intake, record vital signs, document care, and handle basic clerical tasks in a clinical setting.

The role requires knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA, ability to triage, coordinate care, assist with exams and procedures, and educate patients. A High School diploma and MA certification per CMS are required.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills needed to communicate with individuals and groups.
• Mandatory OSHA training must be done annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
• Knowledge of medical office policies and procedures as normally acquired through 3–5 years in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Triages calls, schedules urgent/add-ons, relays test results and coordinates tests and pre-certifications.
• Greets patients, records vital signs, maintains accurate records, processes refills and reconciliations.
• Assists providers during examinations and procedures.
• Prepares and cleans patient areas, sets up equipment, disposes of contaminated supplies and sterilizes instruments.
