Job summary

Rockingham County Schools Huntsville Elementary in Madison, NC is seeking a School-based Custodian I for a 6-hour shift. You will perform custodial tasks including sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, dusting, trash removal and light maintenance under supervision.

Responsibilities include scheduling supply requisitions, replacing bulbs and assisting with minor repairs. Requires physical stamina and ability to work in a school environment with routine safety procedures.

Qualifications

• General janitorial knowledge and ability to operate standard cleaning equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions and perform medium physical work.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax and buff floors.
• Clean restrooms, replenish supplies, and clean windows and fixtures.
• Dust desks and furniture; empty trash and maintain clean grounds.
• Replace bulbs and prepare requisitions for supplies.
• Assist with minor building maintenance and security at day start/end.
