Amergis is seeking a School-Based Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in San Marcos, CA. The position runs for 2 months with a 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM schedule, totaling 40 hours per week.

Starting October 12, 2026, the role involves implementing therapy plans under an OT, aiding students with fine motor and self-help skills, and collaborating with educators and families to promote student success.

Qualifications

• Current certification or licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of practice.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Occupational Therapy Assistant required.
• One year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant preferred, pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, self-help, and classroom participation skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to support student success.
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records.
• Help create positive and engaging learning environments that promote independence.
