Job summary

Harford County Public Schools seeks a Behavioral Technician at Aberdeen Middle School to support instructional programs and student needs. This role involves monitoring behavior, implementing strategies, and assisting with IEP behavioral components under qualified staff guidance.

The technician will participate in crisis response and de-escalation activities, with a focus on data collection and collaboration with teachers and specialists to promote positive student outcomes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• AA degree or higher preferred (psychology/sociology).
• 60 college credits with grade C or higher (psychology/sociology preferred).
• Alternate: ParaPro with 455+ or 15 credits or 1.5 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student behavior and implement behavior strategies.
• Respond to behavioral crises per school procedures under admin, school psychologist or social worker.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage crises.
• Support implementation of behavior plans and documented contracts.
• Assist with documentation of Behavior Intervention Plans.
