Job summary

Harford County Public Schools (HCPS) is seeking a Behavioral Technician at Aberdeen Middle School to support instruction and student needs. The role focuses on behavior monitoring, de-escalation, and collaboration with educators and support staff.

Starting salary ranges from $34,162 to $56,358 for a ten-month schedule; benefits include medical, vision, dental, life insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher is required.
• AA degree or 60 college credits/ParaPro option acceptable.
• CPI training (completed or willing) is required.
• Experience with students with special needs or aggressive behaviors is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student behavior and apply behavior strategies.
• Respond to behavioral crises per crisis management procedures.
• Assist with de-escalation techniques and safety protocols.
• Support implementation of behavioral components of IEPs.
• Document day-to-day student progress and maintain data records.
