Job summary

The Behavioral Health Service Clinical Specialist at Lake Washington School District provides direct counseling services to students with behavioral and mental health needs, collaborating with educators, families, and community partners to deliver comprehensive supports.

This role develops and implements FBAs and PBIS plans, supports IEPs, and promotes culturally responsive, trauma-informed practices across schools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
• Licensed Washington State licensure (LMHC, LICSW, Psychologist, LMFT) or eligible for associate licensure.
• Experience providing behavioral health services to students in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to collaborate with school teams and families to support student needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, group, and family-centered Behavioral Health Service to students.
• Assess student needs, strengths, barriers, and risk factors for school success.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to promote self-regulation and social-emotional skills.
• Support students in crises with assessment, de-escalation, and safety planning.
• Monitor progress and adjust interventions based on data.
