Job summary

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to lead teams or committees.
• Ability to set goals and timelines and modify as needed.
• Ability to interact positively with administration, colleagues, other staff, state officials and the public.
• Mental Health Professional with independent Washington State license (Mental Health Counselor, LMFT, LCSW) with certification as "Children’s Mental Health Specialist" preferred or equivalent experience.
• Public education experience is highly desired for this position.
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, intervene responsibly, and constructively manage crisis and high-stress situations.
• Knowledge of and ability to implement individual, group, crisis support/consultation practices and procedures.
• Ability to implement effective strategies to manage and change student behavior.
• Knowledge of Evidence-Based Programs for high risk/emotionally/behaviorally challenged students.
• Effective team processing, leadership and decision making skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with students, staff, and external providers to deliver education and support for behavioral health concerns.
• Screen for behavioral health needs and provide referrals.
• Provide trainings relevant to the student population.
• Participate in school intervention teams.
• Develop functional behavior assessments and behavior support plans for target students.
• Provide group/individual support for students and families.
