Job summary

Theuniversityunion seeks a Behavior Specialist to provide clinical expertise within a school setting. The role involves serving on IAT, ETR, IEP, and BLT teams, developing counseling goals, and delivering direct counseling to students while reporting progress on IEP goals.

You will deliver crisis intervention, consult on behavior planning, and provide staff professional development on behavior management to support student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and Ohio licensure in Social Work or Clinical Counseling.
• Working knowledge of mental and emotional disorders.
• Familiarity with IDEA eligibility process and Ohio Revised Code.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience leading counseling groups and working with child/adolescent populations.
• Ability to interact professionally with students, staff and families; maintain confidentiality.
• Successful completion of criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Participate in enrollment with clinical expertise for prospective students.
• Provide staff professional development on behavior management strategies.
• Assist with ETR/IEP processes and develop counseling goals.
• Deliver direct counseling services to students individually or in groups.
• Report progress on IEP goals and monitor student progress.
• Provide crisis intervention and consult with administration on student concerns.
• Collaborate with teachers and service providers to implement IEP Transition Activities.
• Coordinate Medicaid billing paperwork monthly and supervise duties as needed.
• Attend Building Leadership Team meetings and assist with school-wide behavior interventions.
