Job summary

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy, & Education is seeking a Behavior Specialist to support a Special Education team in a school setting. You will implement targeted interventions, collect data, and collaborate with IEP teams to improve student outcomes.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's degree or higher, ABA knowledge, and experience with PBIS/BIPs. This role emphasizes proactive strategies, crisis de-escalation, and safeguarding student well-being.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
• Licensed or in process for paraprofessional/educational aide credential.
• RBT credential preferred; crisis management training may be required.
• Experience with behavioral instruction in special education or behavioral health settings.
• Knowledge of ABA, FBA, PBIS and BIPs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement targeted interventions to improve academic, social-emotional, and behavioral outcomes.
• Reinforce positive behavior and model effective strategies for staff.
• Maintain accurate records of SBS and BIPs.
• Collect and chart data to monitor progress in collaboration with IEP teams.
• Provide support to classroom staff for behavior management systems.
• Apply ABA principles to de-escalate crises and support safety.
• Document incidents and ensure confidentiality per policy.
