Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is seeking a Behavior Intervention Specialist (BIS) for City Wide placement currently at CHMS in Bristol, CT. This role supports attendance, social-emotional learning, and classroom engagement under the Building Principal/Director of Climate, Culture and Student Supports.

Responsibilities include collaborating with staff, conducting student interventions, participating in SST/504/PPT/Attendance meetings, and maintaining compliance with state laws and district policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
• PMT district training required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of PBIS and MTSS.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with students, families, staff and community.
• Present a positive image of the school to parents and convey concern for student growth.
• Communicates effectively with students, teachers, administrators, and families.
• Attend meetings discussing behavior, attendance and engagement.
• Provide interventions and support to students in crisis.
• Create and monitor student support plans for Tier 2/3.
