Job summary

Koontz Elementary School in Salisbury, NC is seeking an EC-Behavior Management Technician to support students with challenging behaviors under close supervision of school administration and district Behavior Specialists.

The BT will participate in MTSS/SAT processes, assist in developing interventions, and work with counselors and social workers to meet student needs. Strong teamwork and willingness to obtain CPI De-Escalation training are required.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or higher in psychology, human services, or related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalency with relevant experience in working with children with challenging behaviors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human services, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Make crisis intervention contacts or provide crisis intervention and supervision as needed.
  • Assist in developing interventions, functional behavior assessments and behavior plans.
  • Provide social skills training for students.
  • Participate as a positive team member to enhance implementation of best practices.
  • Generate and maintain reports in student records to monitor progress of behavior interventions.
  • CPI De‑Escalation and Restraint Training is required or willing to obtain.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate with school personnel to design reflective, program-wide support for expectations.
