Qualifications

  • Two year Associate Degree with 48 college credits (preferably social services/psychology/counseling).
  • Two years relevant experience (e.g., mental health or student services facility with BED students).
  • Active CPI Crisis Prevention & Intervention certification desirable.
  • Direct experience in crisis intervention.
  • Experience in implementing effective behavior management plans.

Responsibilities

  • Remove students from situations to de-escalate using Crisis Intervention and Prevention Techniques.
  • Participate in planning for behavior interventions and helping students practice new behaviors.
  • Provide intervention as designated on a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP).
  • Collect data and assist with development of behavior intervention plans.
  • Shadows students to assist with transitions and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and administrators on behavior support.
