Qualifications

• Six months general kitchen experience as an apprentice or helper.
• One year specialized baking experience in large quantities in a school/restaurant/hospital setting.
• Substitutions allowed: associate degree in culinary arts or substantially full-time curriculum with quantity baking training.
• Ability to adjust recipes and calculate bread equivalents; knowledge of food safety and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with cafeteria staff to bake goods on time for meal service.
• Review production records and prepare ingredients/equipment per recipes.
• Weigh, measure, mix ingredients and adjust yields for daily/weekly production.
• Bake breads, rolls, biscuits, muffins and other goods.
• Set up serving areas and train/ supervise helpers.
