Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience: Six (6) months of work experience as an apprentice or helper in a kitchen with basic baking skills; One (1) year as a baker in a restaurant, hotel, hospital, school, or institution involving large-quantity baking.
• Substitutions: associate’s degree in a food service/culinary arts program may substitute for all required experience; other substitutions may apply.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with food service staff to bake goods on schedule for meals and satellite deliveries.
• Review production records, verify recipes, and secure ingredients and equipment.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients per approved recipes for daily/weekly production.
• Prepare mixes and bake breads, rolls, biscuits, muffins, and other items.
• Set up serving counters, serve students and staff, and replenish items as needed.
• Direct and train helpers; supervise serving operations and sanitation.
