Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Experience in cooking and food preparation for school meals.
• Knowledge of quantity cooking, recipe following and food safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and prepare meals to meet service times.
• Review production records and plan ingredient quantities.
• Weigh ingredients and adjust recipes to yield requirements.
• Cook and heat a variety of foods including breakfast and lunch items.
• Set up serving counters and serve students and staff; replenish items as needed.
• Portion and direct packing for satellite meals; supervise helpers when assigned.
• Clean, sanitize and maintain kitchen and dining areas; dispose leftovers properly.
• Receive provisions, document temperatures and report discrepancies.
• Participate in training and staff meetings as required by USDA guidelines.
