Cherry Creek Schools is seeking an Assistant Baker to prepare high-quality baked goods in a clean and efficient environment under the direction of the Executive Baker. The role supports central operations and promotes positive community relations through school nutrition programs.

The position requires a high school equivalency diploma, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Requires Criminal background check and fingerprinting
• Requires High School Equivalency diploma (HSE)
• Requires 1 year of professional work experience
• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally
• Must have basic math and computer skills
• Demonstrates self-motivation and excellent attendance

Responsibilities

• Packages and fills orders for each school kitchen and catering department.
• Operates all bakery equipment and performs routine equipment preventative maintenance.
• Applies mathematics (weights, measures, and quantities) to recipes.
• Works cooperatively with other central operation employees and school kitchen staff; may manage bakery temporarily in absence of Executive Baker.
• Assists in daily clean-up, including pots and pans.
• Adapts recipes to meet regulations of the National School Lunch and Breakfast program.
• Performs major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, storeroom, ovens, and other equipment.
• Assists with taste testing at schools and other locations as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
