Job summary

Great Prairie AEA Ottumwa Office in Ottumwa, Iowa is seeking an Audiologist to coordinate hearing conservation services for children birth through 21. The role involves collaboration with an educational team to ensure appropriate programming for deaf or hard-of-hearing students.

The ideal candidate holds a master’s or doctoral degree in audiology and a current license or BOEE certification, with strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctorate in Audiology; valid license from Iowa Department of Public Health and/or BOEE certification.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple agencies and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Screen systematically to identify hearing loss in children birth to 21.
• Perform diagnostic and rehabilitative evaluations.
• Educate school personnel and families on early detection and prevention of hearing loss.
• Coordinate EDHI newborn hearing screening per recommendations.
• Refer and follow up with medical professionals and families.
