E-Therapy is seeking an on-site ASL Interpreter in Aurora, IL for the 26/27 school year. The role focuses on real-time interpretation between English and ASL in classrooms and events.

Requirements include ISBE approval or IDHHC, ASL/English proficiency, and experience in educational settings. The position emphasizes confidentiality, collaboration with school staff, and adherence to IDEA/ADA regulations.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in ASL Interpretation/related field.
• NIC or EIPA score 3.5+ or equivalent certification.
• Proficiency in ASL and English with strong receptive and expressive skills.
• Experience in educational settings and knowledge of special education laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide real-time interpretation between spoken English and ASL for students, teachers, and staff.
• Facilitate communication during instruction, meetings, assessments, and school events for accessibility.
• Interpret and adapt educational materials to ensure clarity and comprehension.
• Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to support student learning.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions according to ethics.
