Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley is seeking a School Age Program Coordinator to oversee the before, after, and summer programs, ensuring smooth operation, grant compliance, and engaging activities for children.

The coordinator leads staff, coordinates curriculum, monitors attendance, and maintains safety and licensing standards, reporting to the Associate Regional Programming Director. This role emphasizes teamwork, communication with families, and community relationships.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in education-related field and relevant credentials.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience coordinating or managing youth programs.
• Experience with grant-funded programs and compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the before/after/summer program and ensure smooth execution of activities.
• Coordinate and schedule program events and sessions; align with grant objectives.
• Provide guidance and support to group leaders; recruit and train staff as needed.
• Supervise children at all times; enforce safety rules and manage behavior effectively.
• Engage participants, monitor attendance and progress, and communicate with families.
• Ensure compliance with grant requirements and organizational policies; prepare reports.
• Plan and evaluate curriculum and activities; manage program resources and budget.
• Build relationships with community partners and represent the program at events.
