Job summary

The YMCA of Central New York in the Town of Manlius is seeking an Assistant Director of Childcare to oversee daily operations and staff within the childcare program. The role ensures participant safety and aligns with YMCA and NYS OFCS guidelines.

You will support the Director, manage staff, maintain records, assist with budgets, and participate in strategic planning to grow departmental programs while upholding high standards of care and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or related experience.
• Three to five years of related experience with supervisory experience preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

• Organizes day-to-day operations of assigned program areas.
• Oversees staff and ensures well-being of participants in line with YMCA policies.
• Maintains records and complies with NYS OFCS regulations.
• Works with Director to recruit, hire, and train staff; manages payroll and scheduling.
• Assists with program planning, budgeting, and safety procedures.
