Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley in Morganton, NC seeks a School Age Program Coordinator to manage before/after/summer programs, support staff, and ensure grant compliance. You will oversee daily operations, coordinate events, communicate with families, and ensure safety and quality of program activities.

The role emphasizes staff development, curriculum implementation, and adherence to state licensing and YMCA policies. A collaborative, child-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Education or related field; Bachelor’s preferred; EDU 119 and BSAC required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in program coordination or management, preferably in youth development or education.
• Experience with grant-funded programs and compliance is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of before/after/summer program.
• Coordinate and schedule program events, activities, and sessions.
• Ensure activities align with grant objectives and licensing rules.
• Monitor attendance, behavior, and progress; communicate with parents/guardians.
• Maintain records of program activities, expenditures, and participant data.
• Lead staff meetings and provide professional development opportunities.
• Foster a positive team environment and ensure safety of children.
