Job summary

The YMCA of the North is seeking an Assistant Site Director for its School Age Childcare program in Minnesota. This full-time role supports daily operations, leads teams, ensures safety and quality of experiences for children ages 5–12, and steps in when the Site Director is unavailable.

Hours vary between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with starting pay at $19.00/hour and a comprehensive benefits package based on full-time or part-time status.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 and able to pass background checks.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or available within 30 days of hire.
• Experience with school-age children, youth programs, or licensed childcare preferred.
• Knowledge of child development and positive behavior guidance.
• Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safe, engaging, inclusive environments for diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Director with planning, supervision, and implementation of program operations and activities.
• Oversee daily operations for before/after-school, summer, and holidays; manage sign-in/out and parent inquiries.
• Provide mentoring and support to site educators; cover staffing when needed to maintain ratios.
• Assist with billing, attendance tracking, registration, and record-keeping.
• Support compliance with licensing, DHS/DCYF/ CACFP requirements and safety procedures.
