Job summary

ST MARYS COUNTY GOVERNMENT is seeking a part-time School Age Lead Teacher to assist site directors in operating before and after school programs. You will supervise children, lead craft activities, group games, and team-building tasks, and ensure a safe, inclusive environment.

You will also coordinate with the site director and staff, implement accommodation plans, and be prepared to cover in the director's absence.

Qualifications

• Work or volunteer experience with children in a licensed program or formal care/recreation setting.
• Completion of 90-hour child growth and development and school age curriculum or licensed teacher status.
• Maryland State Department of Education School Age Teacher qualification (I/II/III levels).
• Must have transportation to various sites throughout the county.

Responsibilities

• Assist site director in operation of before/after school programs.
• Interact with children and supervise for safety.
• Plan crafts, games, and team-building activities for elementary ages.
• Communicate with parents, site director, and staff about children's progress.
• Run the site in the absence of the site director.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
