Job summary

ST MARYS COUNTY GOVERNMENT seeks a Site Director to oversee the Before and After School care program in Hollywood and multiple sites. The role focuses on planning engaging activities, ensuring inclusion, and coordinating with school staff, parents, and recreation staff.

The candidate will supervise lead teachers and aides, enforce safety rules, and ensure compliance with MSDE and Department policies. Evening and weekend events may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least 400 hours of work with school-aged children in a licensed program or formal recreation setting.
• Must have completed 90-hour child growth and development and school age curriculum or be a licensed teacher.
• Level I – Maryland MSDE School Age Director qualified.
• Level II – Level I plus minimum 5 years as school age site director or teacher certification.
• Level III – Level I plus Masters degree in a related field.
• All Levels: Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must have transportation to various sites throughout the county.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact to communicate with parents, coordinator and staff regarding children’s progress and needs.
• Plan monthly developmentally appropriate activities for elementary school children and large/small groups.
• Review accommodation plans and implement inclusion for all children in the program.
• Supervise and coach staff; enforce program policies and licensing regulations.
• Attend monthly staff meetings and trainings; assist in running special events.
• Complete other duties as assigned by recreation specialists or coordinator.
