Job summary

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) seeks a School-Age Educator to facilitate PK-12 educational programs and promote CBMM’s mission through high-quality classroom experiences. This part-time, hourly position supports CBMM’s goal of expanding the number of school children served annually.

Responsibilities include delivering programs, orienting groups on campus, and assisting with teacher workshops and open houses, with flexible scheduling during school days.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and adaptable teacher who enjoys working with children from preschool to high school.
• Experience teaching children of various ages in formal or informal settings.
• Passion for the Chesapeake Bay and its people.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to foster positive work relationships with CBMM staff and volunteers; problem-solve calmly.

Responsibilities

• Deliver school-age programs at CBMM and in classrooms.
• Greet and orient school groups to campus for positive learning experiences.
• Assist with school-age outreach initiatives including teacher workshops and Educator Open Houses.
• Assist with other children’s programming, including classes, camps, and CBMM festivals.
