Job summary

The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore is seeking a part-time School Communities Educator to develop and teach inclusive PreK-12 lessons connected to our collections, onsite and online. You will coordinate visits with teachers, support logistics, and act as a liaison for day-of challenges with Visitor Experience and Security.

The role supports LECE’s mission, requires at least 1 year teaching youth, and prefers bilingual Spanish/English; solid customer service and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • HS or GED required; AA/BA in education or art preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience teaching youth in educational settings.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and strong written/verbal communication.
  • Good organizational and administrative skills; familiar with digital tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach inclusive PreK-12 lessons connected to Walters collections onsite, online or offsite.
  • Coordinate school visits with teachers and LECE teams; handle logistics and duties.
  • Serve as first point of contact for day-of challenges with Visitor Experience and Security.
  • Support outreach, promotions, and large departmental events.
  • Participate in trainings to deepen knowledge of exhibitions, education standards, and pedagogy.
