Job summary

Pickering Creek Audubon Center on Maryland's Eastern Shore is seeking a part-time, seasonal School-Year Educator to inspire students and deliver environmental education programs on our 450-acre site and beyond.

The role reports to the Director of Education and collaborates with staff and partner schools to provide field-based, classroom, and virtual learning experiences for pre-K–12 students, with some evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• Must have at least one year of teaching or working with children in a field-based environment.
• Undergraduate degree in biology, education, environmental education, environmental science or related field, or relevant work experience.
• Commitment to conservation of birds, wildlife and habitats.

Responsibilities

• Lead field-based, classroom and virtual environmental education programs at schools, partnering sites, and online.
• Serve as a role model naturalist and environmental steward for students and communities.
• Collaborate with staff to plan and implement programs; assist with care of buildings and grounds; contribute to public communications.
