Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Aage Childcare Assistants for our Before and After School Programs at Marian E. McKeown Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year.

The role follows the school calendar with morning (7:00-8:15 am) and afternoon (3:00-6:00 pm) shifts, offering opportunities for morning, afternoon, or both. This part-time, non-exempt position emphasizes building relationships, supporting student growth, and working on a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Must pass all required state background checks.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with children.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, etc.) and homework completion.
• Provide a safe, healthy, and engaging environment and act as a positive role model for children.
• Observe state guidelines, program policies, and host school policies.
• Some positions may perform management tasks such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Position Responsibilities

The Before and After School Program team is responsible for:

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
• Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.
