Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is seeking a School-Age Childcare Assistant for our Before and After School Program at Mark Newbie Elementary School in Collingswood, NJ. This part-time, non-exempt role follows the school calendar and pays $16.00 per hour, with morning and/or afternoon shifts available for 5-12 year-olds.

The position emphasizes creating a safe, engaging environment, hands-on activities, and strong teamwork with families and staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required
• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks
• Ability to meet physical demands, including bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and staying active with children
• Positive, professional demeanor and reliable, punctual teamwork with families and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and homework)
• Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children
• Observe state guidelines and program policies
• Support program operations, including attendance, registration, and staffing responsibilities

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
• Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.
