Job summary

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Staff for our Before and After School Program at Frelinghuysen Elementary School for the 2025-2026 school year. The position offers a part-time schedule aligned with the school day and pays $16.00 per hour.

As a non-exempt team member, you will facilitate activities, supervise children ages 5-12, and help create a safe, engaging learning environment with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is preferred but not required.
• Experience in childcare or education settings is a plus.
• Ability to follow state background checks requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum including fitness, STEAM, academic, art and homework support.
• Providing a safe, healthy and engaging environment and serving as a positive role model.
• Observing state guidelines and program policies; may assist with attendance and staffing.

LOCATION: Frelinghuysen Elementary School in Newton, NJ

Pay Rate

PAY RATE: $16.00 per hour

Schedule

SCHEDULE: Follows the school calendar
Morning Program: 7:30 - 8:30 am
Afternoon Program: 3:15 - 6:15 pm
Opportunities available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Healthy Kids Programs provides childcare for children (ages 5-12) enrolled in our program on the days and during the hours you work. Position Responsibilities

• Facilitating hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum which includes fitness, STEAM, academic, art, and other group activities as well as homework completion.
• Providing a safe, healthy, and fun environment and acting as a positive role model for children in the program.
• Observing state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
• Certain positions may also perform management functions such as accurate attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma and/or 1 year of childcare experience preferred but not required

Qualifications

• Candidates must successfully pass all required state background checks.
• Requires the ability to meet physical demands, including bending, stretching, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds, and actively engaging with energetic children.
• The ideal candidate demonstrates a positive, professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills when working with children, families, and colleagues, along with a consistent record of reliability and punctuality.
