Job summary

State Center Community College District is seeking a Scholarship Specialist to assist students and families with scholarship applications, review materials, and determine awards. You will coordinate program activities, verify GPA and transcripts, and collaborate with donors and the SCCCD Foundation on outreach.

In this role you will manage outreach events, prepare communications, and support equity-minded services while ensuring accurate recordkeeping and compliance with FERPA and related laws.

Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field and 1 year of student services work preferred.
Knowledge of financial aid processes, policies and FERPA requirements.
Experience with district scholarship systems and databases.

Responsibilities

Coordinate scholarship programs and process applications and GPA/transcripts.
Explain and assist students with scholarship and financial aid forms.
Track scholarships and ensure continued eligibility and disbursement.
Plan Scholarship Award Ceremony logistics and related events.
Support outreach, update materials and maintain the department website/social media.
Promote equity and culturally responsive service within the district.
