Job summary

West Georgia Technical College seeks an Account Specialist to ensure accurate scholarship payments to student accounts, execute the due diligence process on student accounts, and report to collections as needed. The role requires GAAP and governmental accounting awareness and will handle 1098-T processing and related Banner workflows.

The position is full-time with flexible hours, travel to other campus locations, and the possibility of working with Banner and Workday systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or similar field from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three years of professional accounting experience.
• Experience with GAAP/governmental accounting standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process scholarship payments to student accounts.
• Perform due diligence on student accounts and report to collections.
• Process 1098-Ts and assist with student refunds.
• Prepare write-offs in Banner and coordinate with State Accounting Office.
• Analyze Banner data to ensure accurate scholarship payments.
