Job summary

Baptist Health Medical Group in Lexington seeks a Scheduling Coordinator to manage appointments, tests, procedures and surgeries for the Lexington General Surgery Practice. You will coordinate precertifications, referrals and related documentation while ensuring schedules are accurate across the electronic system.

This role may provide front office backup and requires 1–5 years in a medical setting; a high school diploma is preferred. Experience in a specialty physician office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1–5 years' experience in medical field; preferably in a Specialty physician office setting.
• Previous medical assistant experience preferable.

Responsibilities

• Schedule appointments, diagnostic tests/procedures and surgeries (e.g., follow-up appointments, colonoscopies, physician consultations, post-op visits).
• Obtain precertifications and referrals; process required documentation, medical records, forms and Kasper Reports.
• Maintain hospital cards and transmit information to appropriate staff/facilities as needed.
• Provide back-up support for front office or medical assistant and verify provider schedules in the electronic system.
