The role involves scheduling surgeries, handling calls from physician offices, pre-registration with authorizations, and maintaining accurate logs and patient charts. Strong teamwork and ability to work under stress are valued; high school diploma required with potential for Associate degree.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in health care.
• One year experience in surgery scheduling procedures preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team; handle stress.

Responsabilités

• Schedules surgeries and manages scheduling information in the computer system.
• Answers phone calls from physician offices and patient needs expediently.
• Performs pre-registration and obtains required authorizations prior to scheduled surgeries.
• Maintains log for cancelled appointments.
• Performs clerical duties and manages patient charts and forms.
• Maintains clean, orderly scheduling area and verifies all scheduled cases.
• Explains financial policies to patients and informs them of payment options.
• Documents insurance verification and patient communications in the patient account.
