Job summary

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children in Bayside, NY is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator to obtain accurate patient information and schedule appointments for services using the scheduling system.

You will build rapport with medical providers and patient families and ensure resident appointments are properly scheduled. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred), hospital or physician office experience, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; hospital/physician office experience desirable.
• Scheduling and data entry experience preferred.
• Able to read, write and speak English.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Detail oriented and customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Completes initial registration information in the scheduling system following established policies and procedures.
• Evaluates therapist and resident schedule to coordinate resident appointments on behalf of all departments.
• Prioritizes duties and responsibilities, schedules workflow to facilitate production of accurate, efficient and timely output.
• Demonstrates flexibility with changes in scheduling processes and procedures.
• Schedules/reschedules appointments and documents the reason for reschedule; maintains email communications with staff.
• Communicates clearly and effectively with patients, families and hospital staff.
• Receives and returns communications professionally and confidentially.
• Performs other administrative duties as needed.
• Disseminates schedules to appropriate hospital staff.
• Completes booking, reviews no-shows and reschedules as needed.
