Job summary

Trinity Health in the Mid-Atlantic region seeks a Scheduling Coordinator to manage timely appointment scheduling across Mercy Fitzgerald, Nazareth Hospital, St. Francis Wilmington and St.

Mary Medical Center Langhorne. Under the Regional Patient Access Call Center Manager, you will enforce scheduling policies, verify insurance, complete pre-registration, and monitor real-time reports to ensure SLA adherence and proper Kronos timekeeping.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of scheduling experience in an acute care setting.
• Experience in complex facility-based ancillary testing across multiple facilities/states.
• Ability to schedule for multiple facilities with varying protocols.
• Strong knowledge of third-party and government payer billing and reimbursement guidelines; NAHAM CHAA or AAHAM CRCS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately schedule appointments using scheduling protocols and insurance requirements via current HIS.
• Collects and documents all required demographic and financial information; activates pre-registration as appropriate.
• Completes scheduling of appointments, pre-registration, insurance verification and authorization requirements with collection of out-of-pocket payments as applicable.
• Analyzes patient insurance plans and ensures correct insurance order and plan selections in HIS.
• Screens outpatient visits for medical necessity and handles Medicare/third-party payer processes and billing notifications.

Under the direction of the Regional Patient AccessCall Center Manager,theSchedulingCoordinatoris responsible for timely and accurate appointment scheduling with expertise in scheduling protocols,registration,insurance requirements/verification, identification ofaccuratepatient responsibilitywith notificationto the patient for the TrinityHealth Mid-Atlantic Region which includes:

Mercy Fitzgerald, Nazareth Hospital, St. Francis Wilmington and St. Mary Medical Center Langhorne.

TheScheduling Coordinatoris responsible to ensure all department policies andworkflowsare enforced, assistRegionalmanager in monitoring the accuracy ofscheduled appointments,ensure accurate timekeeping for team using Kronos, andassist withthe overall training andupdatingofworkflowfor the department.

• Assist manager in monitoringcall handling softwareand real time reports to ensure calls are being answered within SLA guidelineswith the ability to make sound business decisions quickly based on the inbound call volume and/or staffing changes.
• Accurately schedule appointments using scheduling protocols and insurance requirementsvia current HIS (Health Information System). Collects and documents all required demographic and financial information. Appropriately activates pre-registration.
• Completes scheduling of appointment, pre-registration, insurance verification and authorization requirements with collection of out of pocket payments as applicable based on Bronze Standard.
• Analyze patient insurance(s), identifies the correct insurance plan, selects appropriately from HIS insurance and plan selections and documents correct insurance order. Applies recurring visit processing according to protocol.
• Screens outpatient visits for medical necessity and issues Advanced Beneficiary Notice as appropriate for Medicare primary outpatients. Provides cost estimates. Collects and documents Medicare Questionnaire and obtains information from the patient if third party payers need to be billed (i.e. worker's compensation, motor vehicle accidents and any other applicable payer).
• Financial Advocacy: Screens all patients self-pay & out of network patients using approved technology. Provides information for follow up and referral to the RHM Medicaid Vendor and/or Benefit Advocate as appropriate. Initiates payment plans and obtains payment. Informs and explains all applicable government and private funding programs and other cash payment plans or discounts to the patient and/or family. Incorporates point of service (POS) collection processes into daily functions.
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.Some college preferred
• Mustpossess a comprehensive knowledge of multiple scheduling systems and have demonstrated proficiency in complex diagnostic testing appointment scheduling processes with a minimum of five plus (5) years of scheduling experience in an acute caresetting
• Experience in complex facility based ancillary testing across multiple facilities/states
• Ability to schedule for multiple facilities with significant variants in protocols
• Strong knowledge of third-party and government payer billing and reimbursement guidelines as well as department performance standards and policies and procedures
• Preferred NAHAM CHAA or AAHAM CRCS certification
